Real de Catorce is a small village in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. Decades ago, spanish conquerers used to exploit the mointains with silver mines. They brought wealth and recognition, and now “Real” has become a magnet for tourists.

When the sun sets, Real de Catorce presents itself at its best. During the day it’s pricking hot, at night obnoxiously cold. You will only enjoy your stay with adequate equipment.

“Real” has everything you love about Mexico. The food, handmade leather products and Ponchos.

But now to the most important activity here: hiking the mountains. Travellers are aiming to explore the superb landscape by all means.

And where the hiking trails find an end, the long roads continue. But don’t let the weather fool you. Soon after this picture has been taken it suddenly started to hail.
